English Language Arts (5–9) (132)

This test is for the English Language Arts (5–9) (BQ) endorsement. It is for candidates seeking certification in the 5–9 grade band. Registration is now open for testing starting on September 2, 2024.

NOTE: Both the English Language Arts (5–9) test and a Professional Knowledge and Skills test (117, 121, 135, 136) are required to obtain the BQ endorsement for initial certification. Any questions about testing and endorsements can be directed to the Michigan Department of Education or your educator preparation program.

Score Delay Notice: Score reports will be delayed for this test due to standard-setting activities. Scores will be released upon the completion of these activities.

Computer-based test (CBT)
100 multiple-choice questions

Time

2 hours and 45 minutes total appointment time

15 minutes for CBT tutorial and nondisclosure agreement
2 hours and 30 minutes testing time
